Finishing the year strong
Every year people all across the world make new year’s resolutions. And, like years past, they all start strong. Well, at least for the first thirty days. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you made it through at least the first two months of the year. And if you’re even more motivated to make a change in your life, you last at least the first three months. After that, the momentum swings you through the rest of the year, because those habits that you built and nurtured the first few months are now a routine.
If you’re like most people, come the last quarter of the year, you’ve probably forgotten what you said you were going to do in this first quarter of the year. You’ve either completely moved on to new goals, or you are fiercely determined to make sure you achieve something you are proud of, even if it takes the entire flipping year.
This year, I decided that I wanted to end my year with the same kind of resolve as I usually start the year. The new year brings about a fresh start, a clean slate. And while I thoroughly enjoy a clean slate, I don’t want to just fly through the rest of the year without doing something to nurture my soul, to help me be a better person. Enter The Final 90.
What is The Final 90?
The Final 90 is a daily commitment to the last ninety days of the year. My goal is to finish the year as strong as I always start it. Focusing on achieving small goals, keeping my motivation for said goals, and feeding my soul on a daily basis.
Do I HAVE to actually DO anything?
Well, that all depends on you. Do you HAVE to participate? No, lol. Do you HAVE to follow along? Again, no. But if you are wanting to end the year with more than a belly full of all those delicious end of the year treats, then you might want to stick around.
Okay, so what does this entail?
If you’re in, or even on the fence about being in, it’s really simple. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook for my daily posts as I countdown the last ninety days of the year. Each day will start with something motivational, and something to truly think about. Some days I might throw out a challenge, some days it might just be something to feed your soul and remind you how awesome you are. Regardless, everything will land on those two platforms, so be sure to like me and follow.

I’m still not getting it. What’s the goal here?
Yep, I get it. I don’t want to send you anything. I don’t want you to watch a lengthy video that sells you some grand plan at the end. In fact, I don’t want your money at all. Nothing. Zilch. NADA. Crazy, right??
A couple of weeks ago, as I sat planning out the remainder of our year, and working through those end of the year holidays, I found myself a little sluggish, not really motivated to accomplish much at all. In fact, I usually give myself a pass at the end of the year, because, honestly, it is truly a bit busy with all these holidays and family affairs. But I wanted more. And I got to wondering. Why do we put so much focus on the beginning of the year, and starting it off like it’s a fifty yard dash, but don’t put any focus on making sure we end the year on just as high a note?
I know what you’re going to say. Probably because it was my first answer, too. The holidays. You hit September, and it’s all downhill from there. The school year begins, then Halloween comes, and before you know it Thanksgiving has arrived, Christmas is around the corner, and we’re watching the countdown for New Year’s. Whew! I seriously just got exhausted typing that!
But that’s no excuse. At least, that’s no excuse for me this year. I generally spend the beginning of the new year reflecting on the past year. Making goals for the new year, and adding to my bucket list. So at the end of this year, I want to focus on feeding my soul, being happy, and actually being just as productive as I hoped I would be at the beginning of the year.
Will I accomplish this? Who knows? It’s my first time trying. But I’m willing. And I want you to come along with me on the journey. Who knows? You just might find something you were looking for. Or you might find a part of you you thought you lost somewhere along the way.
So come along with me! Join me in what will be a fun finish to the end of 2019! I know it seems like I’ve rambled my way through this post, at least that’s how I’m feeling. It’s hard to describe how I plan on finishing out this year. And it’s hard to know where this all will lead. There is no plan. Just hope. Hope that I will find parts of me I thought I had lost. Hope that I will remember what makes me, me. Hope that I can share the love to those who might need a little right now. Because, as a wise woman once told me, “Love truly is all you need.”
