It’s happened to all of us. You wake up, shower, get dressed for the day, and head downstairs to fix something to eat for breakfast. Bacon sounds delicious (when doesn’t it?). So you warm up a pan, place a few strips in the pan, and continue on with the rest of the meal.
And then it happens.
You go to flip the bacon, only to have some grease splatter as the other side of that first strip falls into all that fresh bacon grease, and SPLAT!! Drops of grease are now on your favorite shirt.
Just follow these simple steps to get that grease right out of your shirt!
**Note: This particular top had been set to the side waiting for a full load to toss it in with for a few days, then was washed and hung dry weeks before I attempted to remove the grease stains. So, to say that stain was set is more than accurate. 😉
Lay your grease stained clothing out on a counter.
You have the option of saturating the area with hot water to loosen the fibers before laying out your item. I did not do that this time, but I have in the past. The results are the same either way.
Place a few drops of Dawn dish soap along the grease stains.
Using the hottest water you can handle, wet your finger, and, in a circular motion, rub the Dawn into the grease stains.
Let the item sit for about 5-10 minutes.
Wash item as clothing tag directs.
In my case, this was one of my favorite LuLaRoe tops, so, it was a cold, delicate wash, and hang dry for this beauty!
Never give up on those grease stained items of clothing again!
