Skin issues are a big deal. Depending on how severe the issue is, it can leave you feeling not only itchy and irritable, but undesirable. At least that’s how I feel.

Most of my readers don’t know that I have psoriasis. I have for about 20 years, when it popped up out of nowhere! I wasn’t sure what caused it, and doctors couldn’t say either. I was given simple topical creams, which didn’t work. And then I was moved to a steroid cream, which worked unbelievably well, but caused uncontrollable mood swings! I didn’t want to have to deal with that for the rest of my life, and I absolutely didn’t want to torture my boyfriend at the time (who is now my husband).

I tried oatmeal baths, over the counter lotions, tar treatments, creams, oils, EVERYTHING. Nothing worked as well as the steroids. But I wasn’t willing to go back to that.

My psoriasis is pretty much on the top half of my body. I have one dime size spot on my left calf, a large circle patch on my left arm, behind my ears, back of my neck, in my scalp, and about a third of my torso as well. Yeah, it’s crazy. Thankfully, it’s well hidden, for the most part.

The bad thing about psoriasis is the itching, and flaky skin. And sometimes itching so much that you make yourself bleed without even realizing it. The situation is crazy sometimes. And when others point it out, it can lead to awkward looks, people not wanting to talk to you, and you feeling, well, like a leper.

So when I was given the opportunity to test out a botanically based treatment system, I was both excited and scared. Excited that it might work. Scared that it absolutely wouldn’t. And while the kit specifies it is for those suffering from eczema, I figured with psoriasis sharing so many similar symptoms, it was worth a shot.

I received the therapy cream, wash, and lotion. What I love about the products is that they are formulated with botanicals used in traditional Chinese medicine. They are conscientiously sourced, meticulously purified, and offer some of the highest concentrations of botanical extracts available. All of which made me love the possibility of these products working for me even more. I absolutely love keeping things simple, and I loathe the chemical laden products that are out in the market nowadays.

Quite the skeptic, I read all the information before diving into anything. The process takes a little getting used to, but I quickly got into a rhythm. Body wash in the shower, obviously, get out, dry off, put on the spot lotion. Now, the lotion says to wait 10-15 minutes and then put on a second application, and while that may seem a bit time consuming, it is well worth it! Follow all that with the therapy cream, and voila!

Ironically, when I received the products to try, I was going through a good period, where my psoriasis wasn’t as bad as it usually is. So the before photos below are at about 50% of what it normally looks like.

I completely forgot to take photos of behind my ears and the back of my neck, but both of those areas are significantly better as well.

What amazed me the most, was how little of the product you need to cover such large areas, as I have. I was concerned about running out of the lotion, but a little truly does go a long way!

I was even more shocked at how quickly I saw results. I typically test out products like this for a week, giving the products an honest chance to work its magic. But upon the first use, the itchiness, flaky skin, and even some of the redness went away!

I apply the products, as I stated above, each morning after my shower, and the lotion and cream are applied again at night before bed. There were a couple of days that I had to apply the cream during the day, but the weather was not playing nice those days!

If you suffer from eczema or psoriasis, I don’t have to tell you how amazing it is when you have a good day. Those are often few and far between, am I right? So you can only imagine how it would feel to feel smooth skin where patches of scaly skin used to be. To not itch all throughout the day. To not have to worry about people staring, or pointing.

I felt somewhat normal again this past week. And it was all because I was willing to take a chance. I am glad I did. I will be using these products for the rest of my life.

Kamedis also has an acne and scalp line in addition to their eczema line. All of which you can order from their website [eafl id=”1931″ name=”Kamedis” text=”here”].
