A couple of notes for you…
~ This is a mild taco seasoning. If you do not like mild seasoning packets from the store, or find those packets still a bit too spicy for your liking, decrease the crushed red pepper and black pepper by half.
~ Do NOT used smoked paprika! This will give your taco meat a bit of a smoked flavor (DUH!), and, in my opinion, does not taste well at all. It throws the entire flavoring off.
~ The tapioca starch is added as a thickener. Usually corn starch is added, but we did the Whole 30 last year, so I had to sub out the corn starch, and, well, I never went back. If you do not have tapioca starch, you can substitute corn starch or potato starch in equal proportions.
~ It will seem like a lot of mix for one pound of meat. It comes out to about 3 tablespoons of seasoning. But trust me. It will be okay.
